US COVID-19

When the times are hard – Reach out. While the virus infects people regardless of wealth, the poor will see more economic impact. COVID-19 effects are. Hence we created this program to do our part in receiving you and help you with small cash grants so you may utilize it the way you need the most.

US-COVID-19 was established to provide small monetary grants to eligible family members of individuals that are eligible for SNAP benefits and who lose their lives because of COVID-19. The cash grant awards will provide basic and continuing financial support for common needs, such as funeral costs, counseling, food, rent payments, or other immediate living expenses, for children and other dependents as these family members manage the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and begin to move forward.

There are two forms of grants that may be available. You may be eligible for an initial grant of up to $250 to alleviate some of the cost of immediate needs related to funeral costs and other essential household expenses. A second grant may also be available for continuing needs and longer-term expenses for up to six months of up to $250 per month. These grants are subject to income eligibility and documentation of financial need. This second grant is intended to help lighten expenses such as housing, utilities, childcare, clothing, food, transportation, and counseling. The exact amount of any grant will depend on a variety of factors including, without limitation, the applicant’s demonstration of financial need and availability of funds. The final determination of grant eligibility criteria and amounts will be made by the Board and the final selection of candidates from the pool of applicants is made by unbiased and randomizing computer algorithms as described in Applicant Eligibility Verification. Grants and grant amounts are not guaranteed and are subject to the availability of funds remaining within the Fund.

This Application Center is available periodically to family members who lost their lives because of COVID-19 to submit information to verify your eligibility to apply for a US COVID-19 Fund grant. Once verified and selected, the eligible family member will be notified and will be invited to choose the mode of payment via PayPal, Venmo, wire transfer, or check.
