American Affinity’s goal is grant making for effective, efficient, and direct impact grants to victims of pandemic, natural or man-made disasters, or emergency hardships. Based on the donation amount available and based on the programs created to reachout and help the individuals and their household in alignment with our purpose.
We leverage latest and advanced technology and help the victims directly apply for emergency financial needs. We may also partner with other not for profit organizations or government agencies and receive lists of individuals that need help. A pool of potential recipients is made from the applicants and the referred lists based on the program active at that time. Software algorithms shall be used to randomly select recipients from this pool to be awarded grants that shall be transferred directly by the computer system. The organization shall help the recipients set up for digital payments system, sends funds, and follows up with recipients post-transfer. Transfer sizes vary by project. The organization primarily focuses on unconditional cash transfers; therefore recipients are free to spend on what they need without restriction.
The Board decides the documentation that needs to be collected in order to validate/verify if the applicants/referred candidates meet the program criteria and may request including but not limited to the following information that shall be securely stored in the cloud computer and produced on demand to only governmental authorities and internal Board members. This information will never ever be shared with anyone else:
- (a) death certificates to verify claim of death (b) drug test results if/as need be by the program criteria
- (c) legal heir proof. For example if multiple members from same household apply for grant then we would be able to grant select only one appropriate person to advance the grant amount to
- (d) EBT eligibility to verify financial criteria
- (e.)Letter and/or pictures from the concerned authority for proof of damages for disaster relief
- (f) other documentation as need be such as drug tests – if there is such a need as stipulated by that charity program, then we will bear the costs for your taking the test.
